About Me:
I have a Post Graduate diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE).
I hold an Advanced Diploma for Transpersonal Psychotherapy.
I also have a Certificate in Dream Work and a Certificate in Advanced Dream Work.
I have completed a Diploma in Transpersonal Supervision.
I have completed a threshold course in Ecopsychology and Nature Based Practices with the Natural Academy.
I am an MBCBT practitioner (Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
I am fully accredited by the UKCP and am a registered member of the BACP (MBACP)
Prior to my psychotherapy training I worked for many years in the corporate and voluntary sector, both in the UK and overseas.
My own life experiences have been my greatest teacher, once I recognised that I required the support, dedication and compassion of a therapist of my own to unravel my life.
I have been seeing clients for 16 years and have worked in private practice, counselling centres, a therapeutic community, psychotherapy training colleges and the NHS. I therefore have a wide range of experience to draw on.
I am particularly drawn to the work of Carl Jung, and work with the unconscious, often through dreams and visualisations.
How I work;
I see clients on a one to one basis for either long term depth work or for short term (7 sessions) ecotherapy sessions. Please see separate page for details of the ecotherapy sessions.
The following are some of the issues that I have worked with:
depression; stress and anxiety; bereavement; relationship problems; work-place stress; emotional, physical and sexual abuse; lack of meaning; shame; divorce; eating disorders; spiritual crises; ageing; identity problems; disability; problems rooted in childhood trauma, health challenges, LGBTQ+; loneliness; overwhelm; existential challenges (eg climate anxiety or the geopolitical situation)
I am fully insured and abide by the UKCP code of conduct.
